Re: 2000 Catera Sport Radio Problems

Multifunctionswitch is located left side behind the drivers instrumentpanel. 3 plastic inserts drops the sound deadening panel, reach up to your left it's about a 3inch box. If you jump pins 12 & 14 everything should work normally.
Good Luck!

Re: 2000 Catera Sport Radio Problems

Can you tell me where the multifunction module is (Even Better do you have an pictures of location) ,so I short the #12 and #14 pins to bypass the low-power output for the radio.

Thanks, Chuck

Re: 2000 Catera Sport Radio Problems

I don't have pictures, if you drop the sound deadening panel under the steering colum, the multifunction switch is up near the top on the left side. Jump pins 12 & 14 and the radio will work. It won't stay on once you turn the key off and has to be turned on when you want to use it. The switch comes apart easily, the relay contacts on mine needed cleaning, I used some crocus cloth and got it back to working without the jumper. Good luck!!

Re: 2000 Catera Sport Radio Problems

I am having the problem with the radio, fuel door and the trunk. They all seem to stop working at the same time. I could not find the "multifunction switch" is this some sort of relay and where is this part so that I might change it out. Thanks in advance....

Re: 2000 Catera Sport Radio Problems

I don't have pictures, but if you remove the sound deadening panel on the drivers side IP, it is in the top far left corner, it's a grayish colored box about 1"x3". It's mounted on a silver bracket. good luck..

Re: 2000 Catera Sport Radio Problems

I have the similar problem with a 1997 Catera. The radio just cuts off if the volume goes beyond a certain level. Can you tell me where is the multifunction switch located? I want to give it a try. Thanks.

Re: 2000 Catera Sport Radio Problems

I have a 1997 Catera. The radio won't work with the car running, but WILL
with the car off, before you open the door. The clock keeps correct time.
The radio/battery fuse is live all the time.
Please help me with a few questions: What is the difference between the "multifunction switch" and the "body control module"? Is there a connection between the radio power and the coolant booster pumps? What fuse provides power when the car is running? Is it CLAMP something? What does relay K134 do? Thanks in advance.
