| | | Re: Catera V new mods I taped off the area to be cut, copied the template onto the tape and cut the opening using a die grinder. Slightly undersize initially and then gradually opened it up so the vent fit in. Check my pictures the vent has to be located 7/8 inch fwd of the vertical fender line or you will be into the cowl. The top surface of the vent at the rear is 2 inches down from the top of the fender highlight line. The top surface of the vent at the front is 1-3/4 down from the highlight line. There is a fender noise stuffer at the cowl, I just pushed it out of the way. Go slow! Good luck |

| | | Re: Catera V new mods For those that are interested in side vents for their Cateras, I found these. Look at the bottom half of the page: http://www.body-kit.co.uk/acatalog/bonnet_vents.html
Too bad they don't sell outside the UK. Maybe one of our British cousins would act as middleman.

| | Re: Catera V new mods when i cut into the fender where you did. do you seal the vent from water getting in. is there a benefit, to the vent other than looks. could it help cool the engine compartment for my cold air intake k&n.....

| | | Re: Catera V new mods There is only a small hole that would go into the engine compartment, so I would say no significant venting takes place. I did paint the edges of the hole so it would not rust. I would not expect much water to enter thru the vent in rain, but it would just run out at the bottom of the fender. |
