Assuming this is the X30XE unit (3.0 24V) then I would remove the plenum (simply 4 bolts, throttle cable, cruise cable, EGR pipe, Brake servo pipe etc) and clean the breather system fully at the same time
Next check the main engine breathers that attach to the rear of the plenum assembly (two large that join and one small, the large and small connect to a breather box at the rear of the 1-3-5 cylinder bank). Clean as required.
Remove the throttle body, its only 4 bolts and makes cleaning one hell of a lot easier!. Note, paint stripper works very well on carbon deposits if the cleaner isnt doing the job.
Now unlcip the plastic cover from the breather bridge on top of the plenum, this will reveal a bolt which allows removal of the breather bridge.
Clean this well in carb or similar cleaner.
Also, pop the idel valve from theside of the plenum and clean this well with carb cleaner.....repeat a few times to make sure its fully cleaned.
This way you know the engine is breathing well, the crank case wont get pressurised and your cam cover gaskets wont blow plus your idle vale and throttle body is now nicely clean which improves driveability and idling.
Sorry for diving in, I run a Vauxhall/Opel Omega (europeon Caterra) site in the UK...........
