Was anyone able to resolve EBTCM problem?

Remove this ad
Hi,

I have the "usual" EBTCM problem: TC, ABS, Check Engine light is on, etc. I have purchased an EBTCM from a junkyard and had it replaced. My speedometer is working since the replacement, but the lights never disappeared.
My current DTC:
U2108 - Lost Comm with ABS Control System
P1700 – transmission Control Module
P1700 – Not sure about this. I have the same code twice.

Any thoughts what might be the problem?
Also, does anyone know that the computer needs to be reprogrammed or flushed by a dealer, or if the EBTCM is good it will clear the fault codes after a few running cycles?

I would really appreciate any help. If there is anyone out there who had their car fixed by replacing the EBTCM, I think it would be great if he could share his story with us.

Thanks

I'm also having problem with the ABS/TCS light, but i don't have the check engine light with it. I'm thinking of having mine rebuilt as well.

Did the rebuild work? How hard was it to get the module out, looks tough. I am also considering.

Re: Was anyone able to resolve EBTCM problem?

Thanks for all of your messages. I am still suspecting that this EBTCM is faulty that I got from the junkyard, but the speedometer works since this was installed. Can the EBTCM still be in fault?

Also, contourbs or someone who had this thing worked. Can you please tell me if a dealer must clear the codes, reprogram the computer, or after you replaced the EBTCM the lights disappeared automatically?

BTW, I also have the airbag light on , but didn’t want to create even more confusion…

light went away by itself. make sure the abs fuse is good. but i would still have it rebuilt if fuse is good
