| | | Locked out, any suggestions? Hey guys... LTNC.
Anyways, went to see Casino Royale today, and locked my doors (I usually don't, the key fob doesn't work, and the key sometimes doesn't open the door). I forgot about this last part, its been so long since I locked it. Anyways, I have both original keys, neither worked. It was locked from the inside, but the key will not turn the door lock.
Can I get a police officer to try to jimmie it open? Will it set off the alarm? (it usually isn't on, as the fob doesn't work. When it does go off, I've been able to pop the hood, unplug the terminals, and after a few minute wait, reconnect and leave.
I have two carseats still in there, and no other means of transportation. Is there any magic fix to my problem?
Thanks...

| | | Re: Locked out, any suggestions? Hey amigo, you can have the police try to open it but let me tell you from experience, it is difficult. You can try your key in the trunk and then crawl thru the back seats but I'm guessing that if your key doesn't work on the doors, it won't work on the trunk but it's worth a try. If you have to jimmy the door, it will probably set off the alarm and yes you can disconnect the battery but I'm not sure this will defeat the security system. As far as your remotes go, I would get those fixed ASAP because you've been lucky that your car hasn't been burglarized or vandalized. First, try changing the battery inside of the remote, this is a cheap & easy fix. If a new battery doesn't work, try looking at the little transistors on the circuit board inside of your remote. When mine stopped working, I found a small beak in the connection on the square looking one on the circuit board. When you open your remote, you'll see what I mean.Use a magnifying glass if you have to. The break is usually caused by dropping your keys, no big deal. To repair, all you have to do is solder the connection. But I go back to my original suggestion especially if BOTH your remotes aren't working...try changing the batteries. Good luck my friend. |

| | | Re: Locked out, any suggestions? Hi shaker...
Replaced the batteries when I first got it, didn't help. I'll crack it open to see if it needs to be resoldered (I've been needing a soldering gun for some audio related hobbies anyways). I really hope that no one towed the car... should be alright.
BTW, there is no trunk access other than from the fob or from the button on the dash.
The movie was good... I didn't get out of the last showing til about 1:40am... and had been awake since 4:45 the previous morning. I actually slept through a big part in the middle that I had seen earlier in the day. I dug the movie. I WAS a big Brosnan fan, and was worried about the new guy, but I think in many respects, he did a very good job of portraying the persona of Bond, just not along the lines of the latest Brosnan Bond. His was less suave, but possibly even more pretentious. First movie I've seen twice in theatres in years. I think it may could have been a little shorter, and I wish there was some more car play (Astin Martin DBS... omg). Saw it in DLP too... good times.
Any other suggestions about the car? Thanks again, Shaker.

| | | Re: Locked out, any suggestions? Hey... I opened my fob and lo and behold, a broken piece. I don't have a soldering iron, and haven't been able to get out to get one b/c none of my friends have working cell phones, seemingly. Just now got a ride, 6 hours after I was hoping to have my car back. Hopefully ratshack will still be open if the key doesn't work. Any other ideas if this doesn't work? Thanks
