Break Lights Not Workin!

Remove this ad
i just noticed today that my breaks light not working! all the lights in the back works exacpt the break lights

any comments?

It has happened to me, I had to get a new switch by the brake peddle, nothing too major

dealer but im sure you could do it yourself its the switch that goes in when u press the brake its a little white switch kinda hard to explain sorry

The brake light switches do seem to fail a lot on Catera.
There are two switches underneath, be sure to get the right one.
You'll probably have to destroy the old one to get it out, the new one goes in easy.

I have a 2001 Caddie and mine just went out last week. Ordered one offline for 29.00 put it in myself, not to hard and it works perfectly. And it is much easier if you just break the other one off first, it is above the cruise control attached to the brake pedal. And its called a stop lamp switch.

No, that's not what they look like at all.
Similar in operation but... it looks different than that.
It's more square and it has a red lock on it that holds it in place on the bracket.
