anyone have A/C temp sensor calibration issues?

i think my A/C needs some calibration.

whenever i set the controls to some warm temperature, say 75F, it blows fine on the driver side but still blows cold to the passenger side. if i activate the passenger side temp controls, i need to set that side's temp about 5F higher than the driver side to blow @ the same perceived temp.

anyone else see or have this issue?

anyone have any insights into how the A/C temps are calibrated?

i'm guessing the pass-side temp sensor is bad, but before taking it to the dealer and parting with more $$$ than i care to i'd like to learn at least a little about the A/C temp sensors and whatnot.
