 Does'nt sound right
Hey- maybe someone can give me an idea of what this "sound" might be.
Cold start.Even hot start. Sounds like an "exhaust manifold" leak noise coming from under neath the hood.In about 5 mins. it stops and car sounds normal. Under accleration tho, I hear a sharp exhaust note coming out the back like the muffler is bad. But at idle sounds normal.
So, checked for exhaust leaks under the car. No exhaust carbon stains at the exh.donuts and rest of sytem looks great. Did'nt really get a good look at the exhaust manifolds them selves, because of junk in the way. Checked the thottle body intake/maf horn clamps,tight, no cracks or anything wrong or broke on that whole unit.
But what I hear is around the intake manifold or behind it.
Can't really see to much back there either.
what I did do tho- is remove the black vacuum plenum off the intake, noticed a rubber O-ring that seals that to the intake. That even looked okay.
Lastly sprayed carb cleaner around the intake area to see if the RPM's would increase for a leak, and nothing happened.
Any suggestions ? |
