Catera Radio Software Compatibility

I installed a diffrent radio in my 1999 Catera. The dealer unlocked the radio, but there was no audio. The dealer concluded, per a service bulletin (#PIC3565), that the radio I installed was from a Seville/Eldorado, which apparently is not compatible with the Catera. The bulletin does indicate that a Deville radio has the correct software; figures.

Has anyone experienced this issue, and, if so, how did you resolve it without replacing the radio (e.g., software patch, etc...)?

dont think there is a way around it. any patches would mod the computer not the radio itself and thats where the problem lies
