| | INTRAX Springs, Rear Rotors and Calipers. Few questions. Hello I'm new to this forum and tried to search it, but didn't find a lot.
Yahoo Group doesn't look to be helpful, too. My local Caddy dealer is not friendly at all... Heh...
I got a set of Intrax lowering springs with 1.6/1.4 drop. Well, I had to think twice - I thought only once
Can anybody post pictures of the Catera with Intrax lowering springs?
Any rubbing? Did it require camber kit? Intrax makes kit for the front, what about rear? How is the tire wear? Another majoe issue: What about leveling system? I know it's possible to reset it with eScan2(?)tool, but what actually it does? Is it possible to relocate sensor to make it think that the car is level?
Another question about brakes. Some 01 Cateras had vented rear rotors. Dealer has only one part number for the caliper for 97-01, so I assume it's the same caliper. I have 2001 Sport with rear solids, but I can stick my finger bitween caliper and the rotor. Is is possible to keep the calipers and just to put vented rotors?
Thanks. |

| | | Re: INTRAX Springs, Rear Rotors and Calipers. Few questions. Well, I found a PDF about ALC here on the forum. It is possible to reset the sensor like if it was replaced, but it requires to hang the car. This might be a problem - the travel of the suspension will be different, but who knows... Dealer probably doesn't
I also located the sensor on my car: What if I mark the position where the sensor's arm located, and modify the link that goes to the control arm to keep the sensor's arm in the same position after spring installation? The suspesion will go up, so I'll need to shorten the link, I guess...
But before that I need some info how INTRAX springs or at least EIBACH springs affected your car and tire wear.
BTW, I got a DVD from eBay that covers all vehicles made by GM from 1996 to 2004 I think. There is some info on earlier models but just bulletins, not the repair info. I thinks it's not like a shop manual, because it lacks some info in coparison to other manuals I have (Mitsubishi, Infiniti, Yamaha) but cover most of repair operations. Anyway, if you need some info just let me know I'll "copy-paste" it for you or make a screenshot if you need pictures. If you want the whole thing - give your mailing address - I can afford to ship it for free to some of you But be ready that it requires about 10Gig of space on your harddrive |

| | | Re: INTRAX Springs, Rear Rotors and Calipers. Few questions. Got an idea about rear camber... It may help... Will outer control arm bushing from 04/05 Pontiac GTO fit the Catera? Does anybody has a GTO around? What the dimensions of bushing? Width/diameter? There rear camber kits for Holden Commondor also... As I understand the hole in the bushing for the tube is eccentric. Here is the picture. |

| | | Re: INTRAX Springs, Rear Rotors and Calipers. Few questions. The rear suspension of the omega/catera increases the negative camber when it goes down. With more negative camber the tire wear increases. With the original bushings the rear camber can not be modified, so you need special bushings. |

| | | Re: INTRAX Springs, Rear Rotors and Calipers. Few questions. Resilient, I thought camber will not change, but after I got springs (not installed yet) I found somewhere online that one guy with intrax springs went through 4 sets of rear tires in 20k miles. I cab't afford this
aldi, thank for the response I got camber kit from Australia(!) that fits Holden Commondor (Omega based with LS1 engine) but didn't have time to try to install it. Basicly, it's four bushings with eccentric inserts. The seller mentioned that it fits Calibra. As I know it's Vectra-based, but who knows BTW, if it will not fit - do you have rear camber kits in Germany? How will be "rear camber kit" in German? |

| | | Re: INTRAX Springs, Rear Rotors and Calipers. Few questions. In Germany they are called "Sturzkorrekturbuchsen".
In Switzerland is a manufacturer. Specifications, order form and installing instructions can be found here: http://www.dorfbrunnen-garage.ch/englisch/zubehoer.htm
Another Version is avialable here: http://www.lenk-opel-tuning.de/ |
