Re: How many actually own one?

I have a '97. Had it a little over a month now. The original owner had some of the major problems fixed under warranty so hopefully I won't have that same problem again. So far I like it. It still turns heads 7 years later.

Re: How many actually own one?

97 catera that is beige (oh sorry Catera Green) LOL!
75000 miles. From Boston but living in Toronto right now!
Change of scenery.

Got all the problems and a bag of chips!

One question:
How do I find out which relay is bad can I do that or do I have to go to a shop for them to tell me?
thanks!!!

Angry Re: How many actually own one?

I have a 1998 Catera. Yeah, I am not happy. I have had the car for about one and a half years. Not many problems except expensive tires, oil filters, and gas.
In the past month I have had to pay $2300 dollars for 2 different problems. Problem #1 Head Gasket leaked into the spark plugs damaging the boot and the wire and shorting out the Ignition coil.
Problem #2 Entire car turns off while driving. No power, No steering, radio, electronics, nothing at all. Took it to Firestone they could not find a problem with the car even when it turned off on them. The car gave no reason. Took the car it worked for a couple of days no problems, it died again. We then had it towed to the Cadillac Dealer where it the was discovered that the Crankshaft and rear oxygen sensors were bad. This cost $1063 to fix.
I am scared that this is not the end of problems for this car. This car is nice that it didn't cost a lot to buy, but the repair cost are out ragious.
