Car threw a Check engine light and

so I ran the code on it and it says #2 cylinder misfire. The car seemingly runs fine. i gave it a tune up and it shut the light off for like a day and then it went back on. It's a 2000 Catera by the way. But like i said the car seems to run fine. could it be a coil pak? a dead cylinder? if it is a coil pak does any one know where i can pick one up without dropping almost 300 for one?

Re: Car threw a Check engine light and

oh also went back and checked it and now it says that Bank 1 and Bank 2 are running lean. so the Problems went as fallows. First time light came on it was bank1 and bank2 were running lean took it in to dealership and they turned the CEL off. then it pops back on saying now its #2 misfire. i give it a tune up and the light goes off for about a day. Then CEL comes back on and reads the same as it first did bank 1 and 2 dunning lean. What could this be. Car runs fine it has an odd idle from 500 to 1200 up and down also has a lil bit of a tractor idle sound like at stoplights but nothing embrasseing/loud.

Re: Car threw a Check engine light and

not for sure but almost sounds like the problem could be a mass air flow sensor

My 2000 sport did the same thing changed the MAF and the problem went away. Got it at rockauto.com for $114 plus shipping had it in two days. Hope I could help.
