 Interesting Discovery on the Auxiliary Water Pump
Just thought I'd share an observation. After reading the earlier thread on the blown "CLAMP 15a" fuse and no radio w/overheating, I have gone ahead and replaced the Auxiliary water pump. Problem solved - I suggest also taping up the plug to help prevent coolant from seeping in there in the future. I also noticed that for the first time my temps are running below the half mark, which makes me think that the Aux pump may have been inoperable for quite some time, but only when it actually shorted out did I realize the problem. Anyway, gremlins are gone, and I'm back on the road! I couldn't find the pump online, so the dealer got me for $161 - still beats letting THEM work on it!
