Would someone know what's involved in replacing the valve cover gaskets on my 2000 Cat Sport? I have confirmed that they are torqued tight and now know that they have to be replaced due to the oil leakage up through the bolts that are causing the noxious smell of burning oil in the cabin area as well as seeing smoke coming up from the hood edges. My brother in-law is a GM tech who has offered to do the work if I supply the gaskets, but I would really like to know before he breaks out the Snap-Ons... what does he have to do to my baby to get to the gaskets?
