2000 Catera Xenon Conversion

Remove this ad
I have a 2000 Catera with the standard halogen headlights. I am desperatly trying to convert them over to the optional Xenon lights. I have been scouring ebay for a while looking for the parts I am going to need. Finally, I think I have located such parts. Below are the links to the items I am considering. Could someone let me know if these are going to work together? Any insight on this subject would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

Re: 2000 Catera Xenon Conversion

I posted this thread awhile ago and I am still wondering if these new projector headlights (first link) will accmmodate H1/D1S H.I.D. bulb and ballast. I think I read on here that the temp. of xenon light made a difference. That could be completely false...I have no idea. I know this conversion won't be cheap to complete. Thats why I need some clairification before I possibly through a lot of money down the perverbial "rat hole." Thanks for any help you can provide!

The projector in the headlights are for halogen H1/ H7 bulbs and will not work with the Xenon D1s bulb. Take a look at the HID University ... hidplanet.com. You are better off doing a retrofit.

Re: 2000 Catera Xenon Conversion

Thanks for the website! It looks a little confusing at first but I will try to sort through it. What all would have to be done to accomplish a retrofit? (sorry-I am not the most handy person in the world) BTW that was a lightning fast reply...
