Rear end oil

Hi
I think it is time for me to change the differential oil. I know it uses a "special" GM oil, but I find it to expensive.
Can I use some other oil?

Thanks in advance

Sorry, I'm from chile and I don't speak englinsh perfectly, but isn't rear end and differential the same thing??
Maybe I was trying to say final drive unit oil.

Re: Rear end oil

Rear differential. You can use Mobil One Synthetic Gear Lube. It's roughly 1/2 the price of the GM fluid. My guess is 75w-90 but best to check your owner's manual.

Re: Rear end oil

Thanks
I've seen the owner's manual, and it says SAE 90 (excluding limited slip diferentials).
It's Ok to use multigrade instead of monograde oil?
