    99 catera
    136k
    runs like new

first off, i'm not a mechanic nor do I know a whole lot about cars. but i'm learning. my question has to do with the vacuum lines. I opened the hood to find a line disconnected from a source, and I have NO IDEA where it goes. I've researched everything I could think of.

the car doesn't run any worse without it, but I need to know where to place it. i hope these pictures help

    What hose to what manifold?

If its a vacuum hose, any size vacuum hose is available by the foot or in bulk at any parts store. And any plastic vacuum line can be replaced with vacuum hose.

I had a terrible time trying to replace that vacuum line/brake check valve setup. It's a hard line that has sharp curves. New check valve, new fittings, but I couldn't get a hose line to make the sharp curves without it collapsing on the bends. Maybe I was using the wrong type of hose. In the end, I finally found a catera at the junk yard that didn't have a broken check valve stem.
Whatever you replace it with, make sure the large hose doesn't rest on the a/c line.

You can use hose and 45/90 fittings to make sharp bends.
