    In deep problem

Today i went to a USA car specialist workshop with my 89 Brougham. It has not passed emission control since 2012. A check engine light giving a code for the TPS is present. Even though the mechanic replaced the TPS and re- configured it the light is still there, the CO and HC levels are a bit better though. But rough idle while in gear is still there. MY CAT is ok. After hours trying to sole the problem He sugested me to ditch the computer controled carbourator and put a 1974 quadrajet in there instead so i can configure it manually. Is this a good idea and has anybody ellse done this?

He had worked with these carbs before and told me they are a pain to work with, it was not possible to manually adjust the mixture.

This is the wrong forum for your problem. We know the Cadillac Catera which is a version of the Opel Omega B.

Follow the link below and post your question there.
