    Unhappy Hi ALL!

i'M ABOUT TO PULL THE REST OF MY HAIR OUT!

Now that I'm done shouting I'll tell you what is going on. I recently had to replace the head-gaskets with a valve job and all that entails. After more that a few
    headaches the car ran beautifully.

Now on her maiden cruse around town she's dead once more. NO spark, no fuel and you guessed it no go.

Since then I replace the cps twice, swapped out the ecm, and tested out the cam sensor.

Now digging deeper is driving me nuts. I can force the fuel pump to run. I've even cleaned grounds galore.

I'm hearing a about another culprit called the ignition control module. However, looking it up I see the coil pack or another thing that looks like 3 chess pieces glued down.

    HELP PLEASE!
    Signed hairless

Is the check engine light on? Are you getting any diagnostic codes?

    Re: Hi ALL!

The check engine light was not working. So, I replace the ecu. It is now working. No codes show. Assuming switching the computer meant I had to up date the key encoding, I contacted a locksmith. He gave me instructions on how to update the key.

Now the car acts like it wants to start. However, it seems to kill the spark and fuel right away. Which could be the CPS. But it checks out okay. So, I'm still searching anything and everything.

What instructions did the locksmith give you to program the key to the car's computer? It was my understanding that on a Catera, you have to go to the dealer to get it properly mated. When you try to start a Catera without the key programmed, it acts just the way you have described.

    Re: Hi ALL!

He had give given me a sequence that is supposed to sync the key.

    Key switched on for 10:30.
    Key off and on immediately
    Another 10:30
    Key off and on immediately
Another 10:30 then start the car.

I realized I did the sequence wrong, so I get back to you to see if it really works.

What do you mean switched on for 10:30?
The time of day? Or 10-30 seconds? Can you explain a little more?
