    alternative parts for 2001

I need to replace my passenger side rear axle but I don't know the type of axle I need for the 2001 Catera.

Everyone I've called so far doesn't have the part so I wanted to know if there was any alternative axles (from different cars) that I could use to replace it.

The Catera was a rebadged Opel/Vauxhall Omega B. Those cars were never sold over here and GM didn't share Catera parts with any other models so there are no American alternatives. I've had good luck using this site:
    http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

If you can't find the axle in the states you might try Ebay GB or DE.

UPDATE: I found a bunch of them via Car-part.com but without a zipcode I can't tell you which seller is closest to you.

HA! Not even close. Who rebuilds them? Where are the replacement bearings/races/boots coming from? Quality parts, quality labor, and good quality control aren't cheap. You get what you pay for.

It's not uncommon for cheap/no name CV axels to fail in less than a year.

And don't even get me started on AutoZone Duralast parts. Complete and utter garbage.
