    The temperature on each side is controlled by a blend door under the dash that is moved by a small electric motor. Check to see that the door moves when you change the heat setting on each side.

    With my Catera, that was the last straw. Passenger wrapped in a blanket, while driver roasted. Couldn't turn off outside air in the wintertime

    it is the passenger side, it just blows like the AC is on..

    REMOVAL PROCEDURE
    The passenger side air mix actuator is located on the lower RH side of the HVAC module. The actuator is below and forward of the heater core

    Remove the RF floor air outlet.
    Remove the passenger side air mix actuator cover screws.
    Remove the passenger side air mix actuator cover (1).
    Disconnect the passenger side air mix actuator electrical connector (3).
    Remove the passenger side air mix actuator screws (2).
    Remove the linkage (from the passenger side air mix actuator.
    Remove the passenger side air mix actuator.

    INSTALLATION PROCEDURE


    Install the passenger side air mix actuator.
    Install the linkage (2) to the passenger side air mix actuator.
    Install the passenger side air mix actuator screws until fully seated and not stripped.
    Connect the passenger side air mix actuator electrical connector (3).
    Install the passenger side air mix actuator cover (1).
    Install the passenger side air mix actuator cover screws until fully seated and not stripped.
    Install the RF floor air outlet.
    Synchronize the actuators:
    Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    Simultaneously press and hold the AUTO and OFF buttons on the H-A/C control panel for at least 5 seconds .

    Re-Calibrating Actuators After Power Loss

    After disconnecting the battery or experiencing a complete power loss, synchronize the electronically operated actuators as follows:

    1.Turn ignition to the RUN position.
    2.Simultaneously press the AUTO and OFF buttons (located on the heat and A/C control head) for at least five seconds .
    3.After initiation, the stepper motors will cycle from one stop to the other. You may hear the motors cycling while calibrating.

    Mine is the same but drivers side I could deal but even with the top vents closed my legs freeze where do I look how can I fix it an can I just jerririgg it cause I have no ac anyways? Its a 97 thnx

    Easy fix too. My motor still was working when I puled it our. In side of assembly there are few gears, look in it, some gears might not touch each other because over time for some reason upper gear moves pin that its contented to, out of assembly and spot touching gears that inside.
    U can push that pin baick in with your fingers.
    Ill see if I can find pictures that I took while I was doing it
