    why does my catera sometimes doesnt want to start

    I drive the car around town and I park it when I try to drive it again it doesn't want to start the radio turns on I checked the battery its new I dont know whats wrong . I try later againg to start it and it starts ???

    Need more info than that. Does it crank? If not, does it make any noise? A click? Some punctuation would make your post a little easier to follow.

    CPS, Crankshaft Positioning Sensor may be bad. Very common problem.

    CKP - CranKshaft Position (sensor)

    CPS sounds right. Add a longer section of heat shielding when you replace it. Aluminum foil works well. Heat from the exhaust manifold cooks the wire.

    Or stick to the incorrect acronyms... either way

    We don't know if it even cranks. Impossible to diagnose it as CKPs without more information.

    It doesnt crank. I put a new battery and ignition coil. After a few hours I try againg and it starts its weird I never had this problem with any car

    I thought about this again. Basically the car is a piece of crap. No reflection on you, but on GM. Once you figure it out, something else will go wrong.

    Does it make any noise at all when you turn the key?

    Does it ever have a problem starting when the engine is cold? Or just when warm?

    Starters on their last leg sometimes won't function when hot.

    My 98 did this 3 years ago replaced starter was all good til yesterday temp got to 3/4 would not start. Open hood cooled off to 1/2 in 30 min. Started right up. Only does it when it gets too hot.
