    Catera Breather Box Cleaning

How difficult is it to get to the breather box to clean the fittings? I have seen and read a lot of posts about it but I
have not seen any "how to's" on getting to it. Before the car was mine I changed the cam cover gaskets for the previous owner. I was not aware at the time of the clogged breather box problems. Even though I smell oil occasionally now, I really want to get in there and clean it. What are the main parts that need to be removed to gain access? From reading posts it sounds like a lot of people clean this thing quite often. The car has about 137k on it. Even though it has had it's share of problems, it is not a bad car. Just some minor nuisance problems for the
most part. Any information would be appreciated!

It's pretty easy just remove the hoses going to it and use something thin and clean it out. I used paper clip, thin piece of wire and some compressed air. Also, recommend cleaning the black plastic on top of the upper intake. That thing gets clogged up too.

Carb cleaner helps too but first remove the small o-rings (three of them) on the black plastic. I have noticed that cleaner spray stretches the o-rings then they are no use and end up buying new ones.

    Thanks
