Cadillac Catera and Cimarron Forum Discussion, 98 Catera valve cover swap in Past Cadillac Vehicle Discussion; Hi all,
I finally had the chance to swap the valve covers on my 98 Catera today, the replacement valve ...
nice job, im on my way to junk yard to look for valve covers and body parts. by the way I see the heater valve has been moved (in your pics) under the coolant jug, you do that? thinking on doing the same
You finally did it. How did you track down those Saab valve covers? Mine leaks very, very little. Not enough to drip on the ground, but enough to smell. When I have time I'll get in there and reseal it.
Thanks, through an eBay recycled parts seller. I think the seller has few Saab 9-5 3.0 with him.
I haven't checked for leaks towards the rear of the engine yet but do have a leak in the front by the timing belt area. This all started after replacing the valve covers and not sure if it has anything to do with it. I'm planning to repace the timing belt, tensioner, seals and waterpump.
Also, don't have any oil smell after replacing the covers.
what to do if i own 2000 sport edition with extended plenum manifold, i have coils, coils securing and hold to valve cover, this valve cover dont have hols for bolts that hold coils, + oil cap on driver side, not on valve cover
