    Lost Spedo, Odo, CC, etc.

Let's just say this year's been particularly bad for my poor Catera, at least it gets me around for now, but my latest problem is intermittent (or rather, intermittently they work as intended, but more often do not).
No Speedometer, no Odometer or Trip Odometer, no Cruise Control, and "TC," (Traction Control) "ABS," and "Check Engine" lights remain lit.

Taken while driving. (No, not by the driver :P)

Occasionally, the lights all except for "Check Engine" will go off and the instruments function properly, but quite possibly less than 10% of the time.
    Any ideas?

Seems like something is wrong with the ABS module. Could start out by checking fuse #19 (since it is intermittent, might look for something loose rather than a totally blown fuse). Also check that the Alternator is giving at least 13.5 volts as the ABS is sensitive to voltage.

ABS has something to do with Odo/Spedo/CC?

Try Fuse #19 in the fuse panel under the steering wheel, not the fuse panel in the engine compartment.

ABS module. Common problem on this car. Dealer quoted me 1700-2300 for the parts and repair. However there is a company in Idaho that will rebuild it for 200 dollars and guaranteed it for 5 years. From upstate ny and back again, via fedex overnight, a total of 4 full days.

Its ABS module. I had the samething. U have to remove abs pump , disconnect module and send it to modulemaster.com to rebuild. I paid $120 for it. There are few videos on YouTube from the guy, just watch them.

I had mine rebuilt at BBA Reman for $60 through Ebay with free shipping and Lifetime warranty. My issues were intermittent also until it quit working altogether.

Catera uses the right rear wheel speed sensor for vehicle speed. That is measured by the EBCM (brake control module) and transmitted via the data bus to the other modules dependent on VSS.
Your EBCM is dead, therefore no modules have vehicle speed, this sets multiple codes and makes the speedo not work, etc.
They can be remanufactured, if you were to buy it new and have it installed the car is totaled.
I've seen more than one owner call a tow truck and a salvage yard when they got the quote to repair it.

Can't a faulty VSS cause these problems also?
