    CD changer diagnositcs for '97

I almost have everything working on my 97 Catera, I bought it a year ago and spent a while on eBay and in junkyards.... When the car starts up you can hear the CD player change out the CD's. The first message I get is ' CD Changer Initializing'. Then 'CD Changer No Disks'. I have the label facing down as the holder says (I have tried it both ways). Is there a power on reset or any type of boot up for this device? I saw in one thread that a 2001 DeVille changer would swap out but before I do that, any suggestions to get this one going?

I have had better luck when I have the ignition key on the "on" position while the CD changer is taking inventory. In other words, when you first put the cassette in the changer, have the key turned to the on position.

There is a company that for $200 will fix what ails it. Mine was "talking" to the radio, but wouldn't play. Not sure what they did, but it worked flawlessly after that. I'm sure you can google it. Also the CD changer works in some older Corvettes.
