Attachment 100876OK you the oil pressure unit is located front bottom of the engine, stand in front of car, look down between the radiator and the front of engine, you should see the top of the oil pan, just left of the pan is the unit, sticking out, looks like pics. Attachment 100875

    Re: Oil pressure?

    okay thank you.
Its just my car will not start- I get no action out of the starter, even with a new battery

In a different post, something was mentioned about an oil related sensor not working- would not allow the car to start.
In a couple other posts I read.. if my car fails to start, more than likely its the CPS (crankshaft position sensor).

I have 12V power at the battery, and at the starter and alterntor; but the car will not turn over- I get nothing when the key is rockered to the ON position...
(the oil/psi needle doesnt even move)...
AND I dont know what to do or check next! Please assist.

It could be a bad starter. I had the same problem a very long time ago, changed the starter and everything was back to normal.

    Re: Oil pressure?

I don't know if the original poster will ever check this again but my 97 catera started doing this right before I noticed oil in my coolant and had to change the oil cooler. The needle didn't vary wildly when I first got it. So it's worth checking for oil in your antifreeze if you have a caddy from the 97 generation and the needle starts varying drastically.
