baby seat installation

Dear...
I want to install a baby seat for my grand daughter, in the
back. Canadian law requires that the top of the seat be anchored to the car. The seat I bought has a top strap, by my '99 Catera does not appear to be equiped with an anchor hole for this strap. Does anyone have any experience in this regard?

There is a kit for this you can buy from the dealer. You can have the dealer install it or you can yourself following the directions of the kit. (Manual states this - reguarding Canadian law)

Yes, I saw the same reference in the manual. I'm a little leary about going to the dealer though, since the one near me, Roy Foss, wants $100 for a gas cap. Good idea though, maybe I'll try Canadian Tire.

Hi Jeffery,
Turns out that the seat I bought has an installation kit included. I had to drill another hole though, beside what I believe is the intended hole, because the intended hole (one of three across the back) didn't allow for use of the large support washer to be installed on the trunk side. Thanks for your help.
