Re: 98 catera oil cooler

Take a good look at your car. Even though it has a wreath and crest on it, it is not really a Cadillac. It is a glorified OPEL, from our friends in GERMANY. Hence, most of the parts come from Germany, or Luxembourg, or France. Also buy yourself a manual and take a look at where the oil cooler is located on the vehicle. And if you're really feeling optimistic, try to replace it yourself. Not exactly a walk in the park. Three hours labor is cheap. Not all cars are created equal, and I'm afraid Cadillac really pulled some s**t with the Catera, allowing it to share the podium with the Cimarron as the worst idea they've ever had. But good luck with yours, and join the club of unsatisfied owners.....

I believe the engine is made by Vauxhall - UK and put into the Opel - DE and then came to North America.

That engine is also used in the Saturn L series and in the Vue. Check with Saturn dealers for prices.
