mods for my catera!

has anyone on this forums have koni adjustables on their catera??? im thinking about getting them. i think that two of my shocks are blown, so i wanted to swap them out. oh ya, i just installed my EBC rotors, and ceramic pads on saturday, so ill post some pics later. it feels so much better to use th brake now! i also have a question about the exhaust! anyone have any good suggestions for a good performing, yet quite exhaust? i don't really know about duals though! i know that the catera has like a second muffler thing, so if i was to change the piping, keep the middle muffler thing, and replace the end muffler with a magnaflow do u think that would be nice and quiet?
all opinions are welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: mods for my catera!

Well.. as far as shock absorbers im not sure. The fronts you could change out easy since they arent electronic but the rear shocks are load leveling. I dont know if koni makes an item that will work for this. You can still put konis on the back, but you'll need to d/c the compressor and cancel out the sensor going to the bags.

Muffler... its true dual already, its just going to one collector (with dual outlet). Another member added this muffler for the exhaust...

"Magnaflow muffler part # 642-14830. He said it was a little deeper in sound than the stock, but it wasn't overbearing.

Re: mods for my catera!

thanks for the info! it sounds like i might have to go to the cadillac dealer and cough up more money for the suspension! the link for the magnaflow muffler doesn't work, but do u know if that guy kept his mid-muffler?

Doh, sorry about that link click here for the new one. Link

The resonator- probably not. It only replaces the muffler. Keep in mind, putting on a different muffler wont gain you anything except for some more sound and better visual appearence. Replacing the headers and exhaust system with slightly larger diameter tubing may do something but not much. X pipe or H pipe could work for this car IIRC the exhaust does not have this.
