Driving with the heater on?

Hi,
I have this question that has been bugging me for awhile. When driving with the heater on do you 1.turn the a/c button off or 2. do you just set the temp @90 and leave everything else the way it is?

I know it sounds confusing but thats the best I can explain it, sorry.
If anybody can help me out that would be great.

Thanks

Re: Driving with the heater on?

I have noticed that in my own catera, when it is at idle, and I have the heater set at 90 if I turn the ac button off then I can hear the compressor turn off as well, I don't know though if it automatically does it while driving.
