Some will recommend Armor All, some might recommend silicone, etc. I have the original weatherstripping in great shape on our 1980 Pontiac. I've had good results with AA, but now use something with a guarentee of no solvents called No-Touch Wet 'N' Protect Tire Finish.
Do a search in the appearance and detailing section. We had a good discussion on this last year.
I'm afraid I cannot be politically correct and tell you it was for the environment, but I switched because supposedly petrolium distillates will harm rubber over time and make it crack, etc.
O.K. Ralph,
Seems like solvent is bad, Dimethyl Silicone is bad, and PDMS is good. SilGlide and No Touch Wet N Protect seem to be the favourites. Anything else you want to add?

That's all I know John, I SWEAR!
What did they use in the old days, before all the protectant products came out?
