I'm taking it back to the shop this morning. I'm thinking it may be the MAF sensor. I was just looking at problems you have when the MAF is going bad. But i'll let you know for sure.

Did you ever check for trouble codes? If the CEL is on, a code has been set.

    Re: transmission lights!

I have replace tcm bcm ecm and nss. And some other items. My S is still flashing. My check engine is still on.
    Any input?

As for the reset mode a Cadillac dealership just told me it was to drive it more than 60 mph on the highway for 3 miles.
Park it. Do it again the next day and it should reset. So I drove it 50. 2 days in a row. Did nothing. Is it reset? I have no idea. How can I tell?

S and check engine still on!

P0705 - Trans Range Switch Circuit- This is your problem.

P1700 - Transmission Control Module (TCM) Requested MIL Illumination- I believe this just means the TCM set the S light/CEL

That sounds like a "drive cycle". The car must go through a set number of drive cycles after PCM memory is lost (battery disconnected, codes reset) before it will allowed to pass state inspection.

Any time the CEL is illuminated, a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code has been set, the car will tell you what is wrong with it (or at least give you an idea of where to start looking for problems). Throwing parts at a problem is never a good way to go.
