Catera crankshaft position sensor Oil Leak

Recently got this 1998 Catera, Just had to have the cps replaced, now I see puddle of oil under car after driving 250 miles. Saw the old sensor has an o-ring. Does it enter an oiled area? Is this likely the cause of the leak? Was totally dry shortly before this repair.

ther are a few things to check in that area, the filter, the oil cooler lines and the sensor, most likely the filter

Got it on the lift and found the oil running down both sides of the block, from somewhere at the upper rear of the engine by the area the mechanic was in to plug in the new CPS. Is there something in that area he could of knocked loose or left disconnected to explain this oil leak ?

I believe the main oil pipes from the oil cooler from the engine block come around from that area.

May be worth checking everything is good. It should be dry like before other than minor staining from oil changes near the oil filter assembly.

    Good luck.
