    Steering Shake

Hey guys, my 2000 catera sport's steering wheel seems to shake a bit starting around 40 mph and gets worse as you speed up. You also can feel it when you rest your left foot on the raised portion on the left side of the brake also. I just had the front struts and sway links replaced so I can rule those out. Any ideas?

could be anything. Bent wheels, tires need balancing, worn balljoints, control arm bushings, tie rods ends, alignment. One thing you could do to rule out the mechanical issues is to put the front tires on the back and see if that helps any.

    Re: Steering Shake

Alright, I will try switching the tires. I had an alignment done when the struts were replaced a month ago and I can't see that as bad but this car has surprised me a few times. I will have my mechainc look at the other stuff but it makes me wonder why didn't they spot that stuff when the struts were replaced unless there was nothing of real concern.
