Exclamation 97 Catera Fuel Pump; no power.

I was given a 97 Cadillac Catera to work on and replace the engine for my 16th birthday. I have replaced the bad engine with a 98 Catera engine and the Fuel pump is not activating, i replaced the CPS and changed the fuel pump relay. It is still not getting any power to the Fuse. The Fuel pump relay is not relaying powerto the fuel pump. 99% sure i have all the wires properly connected. Please help me, my birthday is in 2 weeks and i need a car!

Re: 97 Catera Fuel Pump; no power.

    Ok, let's start with this....

Double check the twist connectors behind the battery, the fuel pump circuit runs through one of them... I can't remember which one... Make sure they are completely connected... sometimes they seem like they are, but they aren't.

If nothing still.... Turn on your parking lights... do your tailights and other rear lights work? The fuel pump is on this ground, so if they don't work, you have a bad ground connection. This ground is located in the lower left hand corner of the trunk near the left hand tailight... you can't miss it.

And finally if the above 2 don't work, unplug the connector to the fuel pump, and attach a continuity tester to the harness side ground (Not the fuel sender side), and ground it to the body... if it doesn't show a complete circuit, you may have a broken wire somewhere, or as mentioned above, a bad or corroded ground.

Oh.. and did you jump a direct 12V to the pump to see if it even works yet?
