Abs, TC light, speedometer not working Need help

I have read on these boards that if these lights are on with the speedometer not working, that the Ebtcm may have issues/ or is in need of replacement. This is current problem I am having. Is it possible to fix this issue without taking the module out? I have had instances where the speedometer starts to work for a bit then goes out, but this happens rarely (every now and then). but about 99.9 percent of the time my speedometer is not moving, and the ABS TC light are present.

I have also seen in other boards that on the passenger side (on the bottom right of the floor near the glove compartment) that there is a module, or device that has to do with ABS TC, speedometer, not functioning. Is this true?

ccatera10 from what I know the following is the sensors that feed the ABS/EBTCM,

    • Two ABS sensors that work with front hubs, one on each side
    • Two ABS sensors in the rear that are connected to the back of the differential in the rear
    • Speed sensor connected to the side of the Transmission
Intermittent issues generally relate to bad electrical connections. It perhaps will be worthwhile to check all five, clean up and re-connect and see if there is improvement. If there is consistency as a result that things either work or never do then you can focus on the EBTCM.

    Just in case it helps.

Question Re: Abs, TC light, speedometer not working Need help

Thanks for the info , I just want to make sure it is the ebtcm and not waste time/money. I have replaced the VSS near the tranny(the old one did not seem to have an issue), cleaned the rear sensors, no sign of damage on them, installed new sensors on the front hubs(others ones were not the bad either), checked fuses, so i guess that leaves me with the ebtcm being the issue.

As I mentioned in my previous post, their are forums outside this site online that claim to have changed a module hidden near the bottom right of the passenger side door(towars the bottom of the glove compartment),. I read this has to do something with the traction control? not really sure. If anyone has info on this it would help to clear things up.

I also heard another rumor that behind the trunk of some cars their are fuses/modules, electrical lines that may cause speedometers to malfunction, is this also true with this car?

It seems you have done all the troubleshooting so may be have to bite the bullet on EBTCM. The following in case you did not check it,
