Shifty Catera 97
Hello All: The trans in my 97 doesn't seem to be in sync with the engine. If I slow down the trans stays in a gear that is to high for the speed I'm going, then when I give it a little gas it downshifts abruptly. If I drive off from a standstill at a normal rate it seems the trans waits forever ( the car is at operating temperature) then shifts roughly. I also find that if I'm real gentle re-applying gas it works fine. I suspect that the throttle position sensor may be the culprit. I have ordered one from Rock Auto, and it's due in a couple of days. Do my symtoms justify my purchase? By the way I think the original sensor is on the car as the yellow paint they put on the mounting bolts is unbroken. Regards, Brian
