Calipers only one design that will fit the rear. You should match pads and rotors for slotted versus non-slotted.

    For the calipers,

    http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par.../N-jegtxZ8knrp

    Pretty compelling.

    Original Part Numbers:

    90543586 CALIPER,RR BRK(LESS PADS)(ACDelco #172-2360) L
    90543587 CALIPER,RR BRK(LESS PADS)(ACDelco #172-2361) R

    Cheers.

When we say vented it means the disc has hollow channels between its outer surfaces. Solid means solid. Drilled, dimpled, or slotted has no bearing on the discs thickness. All Catera front discs are vented. '97 - early'01 rear discs are solid. Late '01 rear discs are vented. Remove the rear wheel and look at the circumference edge of your rear disc. If it has holes it's vented. If not, it's solid.

Like I said above, slots make no difference. If your disc is solid you need the narrow caliper. If it's vented you need the wide caliper. I don't know the Part numbers. Maybe RippyPartsMaster can provide them for us.

i was checking online and i found a caliper that would fit with vented rear discs. it has a bore of 42mm. its called Posi-Quiet Loaded Caliper by centric parts. is says on the website that these are for vented rear discs and that it is for the catera.

Re: stainless steel brake lines for rears

yeah, my parts catalog doesn't really have good info on these types of 'swaps' - it just tells me what goes on that vehicle

    that said...
i do see in the 2001 catera catalog that there are 1st and 2nd design calipers (and that they say for slotted or solid rotors)
but the second design calipers (oem) are discontinued - the catalog doesn't even list the RH side 2nd design

there are durastops available for the 2001 but there's no mention of which style they're for
if i was you i would stick with the 1st design since there's way more cars out there with that (1997-2001) instead of the 2001 2nd design
