    coolant leaking from corroded washer?

I have a 97 Cat. Of course i have a coolant leak. After thinking its the oil cooler a friend and i took apart the intake and spacer. We inspected every area know to leak top and bottom and could not diagnose it to any of the main areas i.e. cooler, hoses, radiator, thermostat. What we did find is a corroded stat o seal washer that is on the part where the coolant sensor is. It seemed like it was leaking from that area. We found residual coolant around the drivers side of the spacer and when inspected from underneath it seems likes it coming from above the cooler lines. The only time it would leak would be when i shut it off. I also had a mechanic read the engine codes and he told me it was the coolant sensor. So it seems like that is where the leak is. Please give me your thoughts.

There is an Auxiliary water pump which comes on when you turn the car off. It circulates the coolant to cool the engine off when you shut the car and engine is still hot.

It is located near the battery on the driver side and is electrically driven.

    Cheers.

Thanks I will check that out tomorrow. I'm going to pull the battery and try to see if i find any residual coolant. I'm going to post what i find but i did see a few other people with the same leak. Heres hoping that its only the washer.
