Did you by any chance replace the radio in the car from another car. These radios have anti-theft lock I believe.

no this radio was in the car when i bought it, when i did touch and move around the original multifunction module the radio would come on and then it stopped coming on at all, resoldered the board had no luck, so then bought the new multi-function module and still no luck (what do u think it is)

The way you have described it appears that there is a potential harness to module mating issue. You may want to go back to the old module but check the mating harness and perhaps spray some electrical contact cleaner before installing the module. Outside of that I can only think of fuses.

May also want to re-check the following,

    - Fuse number 8 (Radio/Battery Guard), this is a control fuse which allows the BCM to protect the battery from excessive drainage when you turn the car off
    - Fuse number 10, BCM

If something else comes to mind I will post.

    Good luck.

if by chance you need a radio let me know. I doubt that is your problem though. I thought mine was bad and bought a used one but it wasnt the radio. So I have a radio out of a 97 catera. I have vin # so it could be reprobgramed. like $20 for the radio plus shipping if you need it. and you need to email me directly. I have deceided to sell my catera once its fixed. I cant afford the repairs all the time!.

Aux water pump shorts blows fuse, then radio works only in RAP mode (key off after on with doors closed). Not sure if this fits 2000 model, but was common in prior years.

If you are having the radio issue where it won't power on in position 2 and only key position 1 upon shutdown, check fuse #10 for the aux water pump. This was our issue and not the K134 MF relay.
