Okay, so basically, changing bulbs is pretty straight forward. Pop your hood, your going to see a plastic cover stretching across the front of the engine bay. On the ends of this cover will be two detactable pieces, flat head screw driver should do the trick in removing them. This will give you access to behind your lights. Behind each socket is a rubber cover, remove these. There are is a little clip that holds the bulb in place. There should be some diagrams in your owners manual. The lights that you need since you have a 97 are H7 bulbs. Autozone or pepboys, or even maybe walmart should have these available. Don't be afraid to ask questions, its the only way you'll learn. And most ppl on the forum are glad to help

    Cheers,

    Matty

If you're just looking to change out a bulb, go to the sylvania bulb guide.

It will ask the year make and model of your car. It will than provide you with all the bulb sizes for your car. For example, a 99 Catera requires H7 bulb for low and high beams.

Head down to your local auto parts store and ask for your bulb size, head out to your car and replace as needed.

You don't really need anything else unless you want to go HID or xenon.

Exactly, owners who have 99 Sports or newer, have the option of changing projectors and upgrading to HID, because they already have clear lenses and the bodies to support the upgrade. Owners of previous models need to go to European distributors to get projection lights shipped if we want upgraded lighting, because our halogen housings are not built for projector units.
