Talking Added some Eye Lids to my Headlights ;)

So I came across these eye lids on ebay and decided to go ahead and get them.*

As always European parts fit the car like a glove and I am always happy with the fit and finish.

This thing beats the old painted ones that I had...

    Installation...

    Some distant shots.

To compare here is the car without them...

My apologies for the bad cell phone pictures I will attempt to snap some clean ones asap!

To honest, I hate them. I bought a set years ago and I gave them away. Since they're not chrome so aren't technically bling I still think they're gimicky.

I'm more of a function over form guy and feel if it doesn't serve a purpose, real or imagined, it has no business on my car. The airdam serves aerodynamics as do side skirts and spoilers/wings. Wheels serve ride and handling. Lights serve safety and so on. Eyelids???? Leave them off. Your Cat is so perfect that adding more useless stuff will ruin it. Like those woman that can't stop having plastic surgery.

I think these look wonderful with the grille black innards as these kind of blend into the black grill slats.

They seem so pointless, but to each man his own.

Glad they fit well, at least.

I dont normally like the painted eyelids on cars but those moldings actually look awesome on a catera!! I would actually get a pair and I usually dont like add on pieces. I also gotta say that youve got one of the best looking cateras. I love that chin spoiler you got there. I wishe they werent so damn expensive to ship to the states cause I really want one. Whered you get the eyelids?

Re: Added some Eye Lids to my Headlights ;)

They seem to be one of those parts the you either hate or you love.

I used to have painted eye lids before but they were much much skinnier and only covered the part that faces the hood, so they were hardly noticeble but with these they cover a bit more of the headlight and at night somehow the headlights look more agressive and I dont get any light escaping upwards.

So Idk they have grown on me but i can remove them in as little as 10sec so I may try them on/off a few times.

BTW I bought them from the UK Ebay... otherwise the german Ebay, I dont seem to be able to type in any words... too hard... the UK one you can shop in english... LOL...

I will take some clean car shots tomorrow for you all.

    And thanks for the comments.

Here's when they really knew how to make eyelids for headlights:

yeah I bought my eyelids and grill at the same time. Im looking into sideskirts, but no one seems to want to ship to the usa.. IDK. I got a great deal on the grill and lids!.. I think it was maybe $180 us?? I nego. a lil bit. he sent me the higher quality lids, they are more flexable.. and good thing. I shut one in the door befor I installed it, snaped right back to its shape!

I am looking into getting a set soon. I'm gonna see about getting them chromed somehow. I have an excellent body and paint guy to work with so hopefully he'll be able to do something. I think they'd go well with the chrome grill and silver paint.
