Re: valve cover leaking, what a surprise on a 98!

Just in case others are looking for new valve cover gaskets, I purchased mine from this site - http://www.autopartsgiant.com/. I think that I got the set for about $40. Great website for ordering parts. They generally have the lowest prices. I found very quickly how big of a pain in the a** it is to replace the gaskets though. I had the time to do it myself, but it probably took a good 6 hours to do it. I don't think that I'll be doing it again if the damn things decide to leak again. They are definately a poor design and a potential problem that was foreseen long before. I'm sure that's the reason that the ignition wires are equipped with such a heavy duty, oil resistant boot.

I think for the most part cadillac is full of the proverbial shit.

I had oil leak.

Took out the 8mm wrench and tightened ALL the valve cover bolts and guess what. NO MORE OIL LEAK!!!... Imagine that.
