Talking HOW TO: Homemade InCar Camera Mount

Remove this ad
This was something I wanted to do for some time and finally I got around to finishing it off...

Cost me around 13$ and it works...

Materials: (HOME DEPOT)
10$ 3ft Square Alum Extrusion 3/4" thick
2$ 2 U clamps.
1$ 1 1/4-20 bolt for the camera.

Cut a piece of Alum around 20"
Marked the head restraint distance between the posts (21cm)
Drilled 4 Holes to provide placement for the U bolts.
Drilled 1 hole at the other end (Center of car) for the camera mount.
Went to the car...
Installed the U clamps around the head restraint frame...
Installed the bolt and the camera...
DONE
Took me around 15min.

Here are a few pictures of what I used.

Here is a short video.
NOt sure what clunks but it may be contact between the camera and the mount. I need to insulate the 2.
