Re: Rotors

Thats weird, the bolt that holds mine is a hex. Now it's been my experience, and from what some of my tech friend tell me, is that the bolt is not really required for use. The main reason that is there is when the car is in assembly, they hold the rotor on before the caliper is installed, basically so they're not falling off as they go down the line.

Re: Rotors

Get em at the dealer for about 4 dollars a piece. they strip very easy but you actually need them. I left one off and it is very difficult to mount your tire on the hub without it.

Re: Rotors

I guess it keeps the mounting holes aligned with the rotor holes so you can put your bolts on... otherwise you will have to hold the wheel on there, while turning the rotor itself in order to align the 3....

Re: Rotors

whether I need it or not... I need to get the darned thing off. Guess I'll run to the dealer then. I think new rotors should come with a new screw everytime. My .02

Re: Rotors

It should drill out easily. It is made of Aluminum or other weak metal. It does strip very easily. I tried my cordless drill on it and it was way too powerful. Stripped right away!
