| 98 catera tranny problems please help
I recently bought a 98 catera 45000 original miles you start out in drive but when the car goes to change gears from 1st it acts like you put the car into neutral you can manually put the car in L1 and start going again but it will not give you another gear other than reverse and L1. I bought a used tranny put that in and it does the same thing. Has this happen to anyone else if so please help the computer shows code 1744 something about the tcm but does not say that its bad. If it is the tcm can I buy a used one without needing to get it programmed. any advice at this point would be appreciated thanks. |
