Re: Does any one think this would work?

The auction seems a bit suspect, a 20hp increase isn't realistic with just a tune, the description also doesn't state which version/year ECU it is and the user has just 1 feedback.

Anyways, the European ECU's are different from the North American so even if the item was legit, it wouldn't work in our cars.

eBay is full of scam power adders.

Re: Does any one think this would work?

Don't fall fot the more common US version of this con. It claims to be a performance chip where as it's only a resistor to fool the ECU that the engine is still below operating temp. It causes a richer fuel mix that does nothing but lower your gas mileage.

Bottom line. There is no performance chip for the Catera and unlikely that there ever will be. The market is too small considering that WE and members on other Cat forums are the market.

Re: Does any one think this would work?

Hm. I have the ecu out of the car and im curious where someone would put it. seeing as how its a sealed unit. Either way, its possible to pick up some power from a tune. Just not by that. You would hafta have a dyno and find a tuner with software that he can use for the catera, but i dont know if that exists or not. Maybe for a CTS?
