Would anyone have any lead-way as to where i can start looking for a reason why i have no interior lights.. The lights in the doors, the lights in the roof and even the map lights.. none work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just read Knockout's thread where he said that pulling the Onstar fuse killed the dome and interior lights. You might want to check that.

yeah, my 98 doesn't have on*star either... every fuse i could find (under drivers knee panel and under hood around battery) is good.. i even replaced some that i thought were not "optimal" and im sure its not the door switches because the little lights in the window switches turn off properly when i open the door.. also the power windows will work with the key off untill you open the door.. any other ideas??

    Re: No interior lights..

you have to get under the drivers side dash where your fuse box is and remove the heater/ac vent plastic. Once you do that get a flashlight and look for a medium sized grey box next to some red relays. That's the box that controls interior dome lighting and also your auto tinting mirror. Sometimes you'll notice that your lights will come on randomly. There's a bad solder joint on one of the components that is easily fixed. Remove the box from the holder it's on, if not just break it off- the holder should be plastic. Disconnect the box from the plug and clean it off with some air. If you're solder capable look on the back or bottom for a joint that looks like it has come off a bit and give it a touch of solder. That will fix your problem. Trust me!!! I literaly tore my car apart trying to find that module. It's also located up near the headlight switch next to some red relays. That's it.

yes r-caddy is correct i put a new multifunction relay in it already which fixed a few of my other problems but not my interior lights.. its funny that he mentioned the auto-dimming mirror because that doesnt work in my car either..

Same here, no interior lights, fuses are all good. Anyone know if the light system is a closed circuit type thing, if one bulb is blown they all stop working?

Take the BCM out and re-solder and check again before putting everything back.

    Good luck.

Probably but I assume you mean R-Caddy. Very poor solder work on these modules.

    Cheers.

Alright, I tried what eastsidercaddy posted above. I removed the entire left side
paneling, took the headlight unit out. removed the A/C vent. I still could barely touch the relay with my finger tip. I should have taken pics, wish I had now.

So I'm not even sure if I found the BCM.
