can this motor be rebuilt ? with PICS of damage

I bought a 97 catera for $400 . I bought it just to see if I could rebuild the motor . It has exactly 104,xxx miles . Can I rebuild this motor or is it junk ?? What would I have to replace ??

sure you could but i don't know if you would want to.
looks like you have to replace a couple bent valves and polish out the rough spots on top of the piston that hit the valves at a minimum, you may also have to get the valve seats machined/polish out any rough spots in the combustion chamber of the head.
it may be cheaper to just buy a good used junkyard engine or remanned unit
